your brake system is completely separate form your engine (except for the vaccum sorce for the power booster). so if you swap, ABS will stay. if you want to temporarily turn off the ABS (ie if you want to do threshold braking for auto-x or road racing), pull up the e-brake just high enough to turn on the BRAKE idot light, and drive about 1/2 a mile. your ABS light should come on, and your ABS will be deactivated. if you don't know how to threshold brake DO NOT turn it off. you will brake much worse w/ the ABS off.

Jared is swapping out the engine. And while it is out he was thinking of removing ABS. He is wondering what he needs to do to remove it and will the ECU and brake system still work. Or does he have to change some parts?

Jared said there is a hose coming out of each end of the ABS system. Could we just bypass the whole ABS system and be done with it!
