About to swap b16a2...
Well after being told by Hmotorsonline.com that they only sell JDM engines now, and reading about people BAR'ing their JDM engines, I've decided that im going to go ahead and do it for my daily driver (for now)
Im ordering a 1995 B16A2 with Hydro Trans, The Complete Change over, from Hmotorosonline. Its $2370 shipped to my house. The only thing I will need to make this legal is a US Intake manifold, and a US 1995 Del Sol Si ECU, Correct me if im wrong please.
It comes with everything I need except motor mounts and the US parts obviously, so im going to get the motor mounts and then swap it in, and just leave everything JDM for now, since my car isnt lowered or have exhaust yet so I dont get my hood popped, and I dont have to smog for 2 years. Later i will swap the intake manifold and my ECU, then get it BAR'ed, lowered etc etc.
Does anyone know of a reliable online place I can order a US ECU for my engine? Also im leaving anything out besides the ECU and Mani, to make it BAR legal, please let me know! Thanks for all the info everyones helped me with, all the past info in the search too, you guys all kick ***.
oh BTW, its going into a 1995 Honda Civic ex Coupe....

He's in cali, he needs a USDM ECU.
Put your JDM ECU up for trade for a USDM one.

wow i never realized how much better it is in texas, in regards to all of the stupid rules other states have. I don't have a cat and we don't have emmisions testing in san antonio yet. However i would still rather live in california considering how weak the import scene is in san antonio. BTW good luck on gettin everything you need.

not even. if you know how to drill and tap, you can install a vaccum nipple on the intake manifold to attach the evap purge sonlenoid. you also have to have a throttle body with nipple on top to accept the charcoal canister hose.
btw, the B16A2 is the USDM 99-00 Si motor. the "Si-R II" is the 2nd gen, JDM, OBDI B16.

Re: (dantastic)
Hmm, Well when I called Hmotors, I told him I needed a 95 B16 USDM, he said that they only have JDM Motors now. So I said well I want it to be legal so I need something thats a 95. He stopped me, and said, "Why dont u just get a B16A2? I can hook u up with one of those, and a hydro tranny." So I dont understand, if they only have JDM motors, he must be talking about the JDM 95 from the Del Sol, unless he happens to have USDM A2's..Which would be sweet cause I can drop it in and ref that ****.
BTW, Thanks for the info!
