CV boot? Do you mean shift boot?

why would he mean shift when he asked cv?

They sell quick replacement boots at autozone for under $20.
Depending on how long its been ripped, you really should just replace the entire axle ($50 or so after trade in @ autozone) because dirt may have gotten into the joint = premature wear = dead joint soon = more money and time to do it a second time

CV boot and shift boot are 2 different things. CV boot is part of the axle. Shift boot is part of the shifter.

replace the axle, changing the boot will follow the same process as changing the axle. Might as well cuz it seems like u are due for an axle change anyways. Hey its just like a timing belt job, While everythings out u may as well change the water pump and crank seal, u do this to avoid future problems.

that's pretty good .. i did it in 20 minutes and i though i was fast.

replacing the boot takes like an hour and you have to (well not have to ... but it would suck) pull the axle out anyway. and i hate dealing with axle grease.

go to napa and get a new one with a lifetime warranty for 60 bucks and be done with it.

I can change an axle in about 20mins Id say.
A lot faster since I started popping the lower ball joint w/ the ratchet
