I believe you must have at least 2 inches of ground clearance.

i have never heard of any rules in florida. i recently was pulled over for loud exhaust cop was spouting off about decibal levels (i install sound systems so i use a decibal meter everyday almost), i asked for the decibal meter he was useing and he let me go with a warning. its kinda funny cause ive heard trucks and mustangs or camaros loud as hell guess they like picking on the import guys

CT is 4" clearance. For reference.

Check your DMV.

No bs laws like that here in FL, but the new one is about people's radio's or "systems". If they can hear it from 100 yards away its like a $46 dollar fine.

i think most hieght restrictions go by the hieght of the head light not how high the car is actually off the ground... they uisually measure from the ground to the bulb in the head light... usually its like 20 - 22 inches

i asked a local cop here in MN and he was like "huhh" so i never get hassled for ride height, but in cali it is 22 inches to the center of the headlight i believe

Thanks for the reply guys. I guess the only way to make sure is to call the DMV.

That's what I would do, but this was covered in a SCC a couple months ago. It was the same issue as the cop car testing.

But still be careful about how low you do go with it. Even if its legal the potholes and speed bumps will still get you. Especially around my area..."Better Jacksonville Plan" my ***!

well i never heard of that law in ny, but in this city you need as much clearance as possible bc of all the holes. i keep my car as low as possible just bc i like it like that. my tranny is scratched to **** too.

just do a clean drop and not a stupid drop. If your car is sitting extremly low then getting a ticket for it should be the least of your worrys. i.e. potholes, speed bumps, manholes, driveways, etc, etc.......

I don't think we have a limit, b/c my car is about 2-3 inches off the ground and cops haven't bothered me yet about it.
