about to do tune up
car 1996 honda civic ex with d16y8. my question is for the fuel filter, cap, and rotor. would it matter what brand i get or is there a specific brand i should get?

i would say first off go to the honda dealership and get parts, but if you don't want to spend that kind of money go to autozone and get duralast or bosch. they both have one year warranty on there parts. i used those above mentioned, and my car is running so damn smooth.
i would clean your fitv and iacv valves as well, although i don't think you obd2 guys have a iacv valve. oh and throttle body and intake manifold, spray some intake manifold cleaner in there. i also replaced my coil, wires, plugs and o2 sensor in my 95 ex.
keep in mind i bought my car with it running iffy, i felt it was beneficial to replace all these parts, you may not.
