I have sprayed my bay numerous times and have yet to have a problem with the timing belt area. Just cover what you have listed above and you will be fine. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I've been pressure washing my cars'engine bays down for years and never covered a fuse box, distributor, battery, intake filter or anything else in the engine bay. NEVER had a problem. Just make sure you don't do it while the engine's hot. Warm, sure. Hot....no.

Haha, i do engine shampoos all the time at work, I never cover anything, i just try to avoid spraying directly at the alternator and dizzy. Not once have i ever had a problem restarting a car after an engine shampoo
