i looked in motor swap section in this section and it didn't say anything about a f22b1 swap into a 1996-1998 civic? is it possible and if so would it be hard or is it a direct bolt in?

not a direct bolt in it would be similar to putting a h22 in your ek

Yep.
Pain in the *** just like a H22 and less horsepower.
Also comes with H22 issues ( hood clearance, excess weight in the front, axle issues, etc. ). Just not worth it, unless you happen to come across all the parts you need for free.. haha.

If you're okay with a not so legal swap, go get a B20. Otherwise stick to the B18's.. they ain't bad!

im always thinking of the other motors to swap. the numbers dont
sound bad, 145 hp and 147 torque. the torque along is better then any d and b series motors.

Yes but it is a lot of work to get a 2.2 motor in.
Go read the forums and see what's involved in a H22 swap.
Even once you get the damn thing in, you gotta worry about breaking axles on a bi monthly basis. The engine just doesn't sit in the civic bay right... either off to an angle, or too high/too low. And then you have suspension issues due to front end weight.. it's a pain. read up.

Very cool for someone's weekend race car but not reliable for a daily driver.
Everyone i know with a H22 swap says they have issues. And besides, F22 isn't that fast for what it is.. not compared to some of the better, easier swaps out there.

Let's just say that a Turbo B18 would smoke a F22 AT 3 PSI .. hell.. a GSR motor would probably toast a F22 also, stock... even considering it has much less torque. It would cost about the same too.

I know that it's cool to have a unique motor in your car, but if you browse enough on here you'll know why the f22 is a unique swap... ;P
