99 si transmission
ok guys for the longest now i have known that my pressure plate was going out but was just waiting on replacing my clutch due to the fact of low income since i went to jail for racing......
now what happen is that i was in gear and came to a complete stop. Putting my car into first gear the car did not begin to move after i began to release the clutch and accelerate...felt like the clutch finally gave out but the thing is that when i put the car back into neutral it made a grinding noise that i have never heard of before....question is that replacing the clutch is a must but could my transmission be out also and is there a way to check for it while its in the car before i pull the tranny off the block...

Re: 99 si transmission (2mansi)
Here's on way to check. Drain the tranny oil out while shining a flashlight through the oil stream. If it looks like glitter is in your oil, then you've got problems internal to the tranny.
