Default 99 si running like crap

I have a 1999 Civic si. My alternator went out, so I replaced the alternator. After replacing the alternator, I replaced the battery also. Then I started my car. I drove it down the street, then my speedometer starts tweeking out and from my ecu, it starts clicking. So I checked the alternator fuse under the dash to see if it was blown. It wasn't blown, so then I checked if my ecu was fried, so I jump my car to a obd1 p72, car turns on with a check engine light and turns off. Then i use a p28, and the same thing happens. I really don't know what it can be now. I also checked if everything was grounded and every is grounded. Does anyone know what might be the problem? thanks
