Default 99 Si overheating

99 civic si b16a2 stock dd
i have an issue...... the car been overheating when the a/c is turn on.
i finally look under the car and its coming (radiator fluid) from the bottom of the passenger side. I can't really tell where its coming from. I know the carpet is not wet or damp on passenger side. I know its dripping off a rubber hose. I don't think its the heater core, the heater core is in the middle of the car, right?

sounds like your lower radiator hose has a hole in it. haha my buddy calls it radiator fluid. but id fill it up with antifreeze or water since its gonna leak out anyway to make sure where its coming from

no its not the lower hose. there is nothing there. its near the passenger floor in the engine bay. Can it be the a/c?

it runs....

it over heat like crazy after awhile of running with a/c on
there are only 2 hoses......upper and lower. no other hose running to the passenger compartment. But there is a hose for drain...that is dripping out water.
i'm just losing radiator fluid.

Chek for the hoses in the back of the manifold, the little ones, are problematic and difficult to see too.

Are you SURE it's "radiator fluid"?

When I park my ride... By the time I get my car cover on, there's a 'lake' of water underneath my passenger side!

This is normal...

One of the functions of an A/C is to dehumidify the air - that's why they use the A/C in the wintertime to defrost the front window! And, all that 'humidity' condenses & collects on the evaporator and can be seen "dripping off a rubber hose" on the passenger side of your car.

Anyway, I would *guess* that your overheating problem is a separate issue...

As an aside...

Perhaps you have a leaky heater core, and it's mixing a little "radiator fluid" with a lot of A/C condensation - making it *look* like it "radiator fluid" when it's MOSTLY condensation.

Hard to tell without being there...

I'm having the same problem with my 99 si. I took it to the shop and one of the hoses popped which is located in the back of the block, under the intake manifold. As of now, my car is still overheating but not loosing any fluid.

i'm sure it is. B/c i started and let it heat up and the fluid got lower and lower and then it started to over heat.... higher and higher. The themostat was just changed about 4 months ago. I just can't figure it out. I don't think its the heater core, can it.

Well, you could always bypass the heater core, for now, and see if it 'cures' the fluid loss problem!

If not, keep looking...

That's what I would do.
