99 OEM FOGLIGHT INSTALLATION PROBLEM!!!!!
I search everywhere and I have read every article and look at every manual there is and I have a few problem with my 99 civic oem fog light kit. I mostly have problem with the switch harness can someone help me that has done this before. Picture would help a lot.
1. The fog light harness wires is blue with a brown connecter at the end which one do I connect that to from the switch harness.
A) Wire Number 2
B) Wire Number 3
??
2. On question one I would plug either wire two or three into the fog light harness now where would I plug the one that is left?
3. Where would I plug Image number 1 at?
IF THE IMAGE DOES NOT LOAD PLEASE GO HERE

Wow, I don't remember having any problems like that. Everything just plugged in and worked. Do you have the instructions? If not you can get them on handa-accessories.com and that tells you where to plug things in.

Re: (speedrlcer)
Hmm I did mine over a year ago but those harnesses look familiar. Do you have an OEM <u>"style"</u> fog light kit or is it <u>genuine Honda</u>? I have an oem style kit and not all the harnesses plugged in as if it was genuine Honda. The good thing about having an aftermarket oem style one, is it by-passes your headlight switch so you can turn on your fogs with just your parking lights on. I know the harness from the switch plugs under your dash somewhere, you have to get on your back and look real good under the dash with a flashlight to find it. It's brown too and will be the only brown single wired unconnected harness under the dash. Best of luck.

I just did that for a friend a few days ago and his kit was from honda. Every thing just pluged in no cutting of any wires. You buy a used kit or something or a fake one? I don't know what to tell you but test the wires. I you want them to work with the switch just wire up power and ground it really shouldn't be that hard. Good luck

Re: (TwistedSI)
I live far from mainland US, so shipping is an issue. My OEM style kit wasn't much cheaper than orginal Honda, but fitment and quality wise, I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference side by side if there was no "Stanley". Oh yeah, those Handa-Acessories instructions are exactly what I used to do my install, but they did confuse me because it asks you to go into the steering column/ignition cover, with my kit that was unnecessary.

yes you have to modify the bumper, go to honda-accessories and they got all the instructions you can print out.

Re: (C00SI)
ok.. i've done 2 foglight installs, so here it goes for the wiring:
Keep in mind this is how I did it on 92 - 95 Hatches, so it might be slightly different for your car.
Using the harness that came with the foglights:
1. The side that plugs into the foglights should be blatantly obvious. Make sure you secure the wires so they don't hang down.
2. There should be a wire that goes to the the battery terminal. There should also be a "fuse box" towards that end of the wire. It's a black box with a 15 amp fuse in it. Just secure that by zip tying it somewhere.
3. The wires that go INTO the car:
- First. The wires that you don't know what to do with go to the fuse box under the steering wheel. The plug with brown wires goes into the top of the fuse box. There should be like 4 or 5 spots for the plug. I think it's the 3rd plug from the left in a 93 hatch.(don't quote me on that). The black wire is ground, so just find a place to ground it. I just took off a bolt and then put the ground there, but make sure the place you ground it actually is grounded.
- You will need to ADD A FUSE to the fuse box under the steering wheel. Use a 10 amp fuse and plug it in according to the guide on the fuse box cover. It should be in 1 of 2 spots that go with the plug spot that you choose for the brown plug.
- Now for the fog light button: Pop out the "button blocker"(not sure where it is in a 99 civic). Now just put the button into the blocked button part and run the actual electronic switch through it and pop it back in.
With this set up your driving lights will have to be ON for your foglights to be on, but you will still be able to turn the foglights on and off with the button. I just leave my foglights "on" all the time. That way anytime i turn my driving lights or headlights on the foglights come on as well.
