Default 99' HX code 1399

I picked a 99' HX that have cel, been working on it a few hours during the week.

At first I was getting a 1399 cel with a P0303. Change plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter, air fliter ( basicly did a tune up ) . Still had the same issue but with more misfiring code now from all 4( P0300 - P0304 ) I notice the motor would feel like it would blog ( feel like a fuel cut ) down on highway speed but the RPM won't move from it, but come right back and drive nor after that. It also idea low around 500rpms and the battery light would come and go.

So I thought I had lazy injectors - So I pulled them and clean and test them - volt meter read 13.8 - 14.2 - normal? I end up check the many injector I had around and they seem high compared to all the other D- Series and B-Series. I had and another set from the same motor and year. So I end up just swapping out, fixed the issue - hasn't blog or felt like a fuel cut. But still throwing the same code P1399.

Check the timing and it was off - so I advanced it by the Dizzy but was still off by few °, So I end up pulling the timing belt cover off and check the belt itself and it was off by a lot. End up putting a new TB and WP and retimed her. Timing light - timing marks(crank pulley and crank sprocket) on dead on @ 16° BTDC. But my ODB2 scanner reads 12°, why?

The check engine would flash, stay on but will be off when it first started and come back on after about 3 miles. Once the check engine come on it would blog on light loads( it's been doing this on too) - below 2K RPM - and idea low again.

Could it be the Dizzy is bad? I am lost and did everything I know to fix it. I can't think of anything else I left out. Forgot to add, I even have another ECU for it too, which didn't change anything either.

Any ideas?

Clean the EGR chamber and ports. They are likely clogged.

Will give that a try in the morning and try another Dizzy.

How do you clean the port on the intake mani? Can I take apart the EGR valve to clean it?

Remove the chamber and scrape all of the carbon out of the ports and passages. I don't know whether the valve comes apart, but make sure to scrape any carbon out of it as well.

Ron thanks for info. I'll try it tomorrow, didn't even know there was a full chamber. When I took off the ERG valve to clean it. I did notice there wasn't a gasket, didn't know it needed one. Maybe this could be the issue + the dirty chamber.
Should I also go ahead and change that gasket too?
