99 EX won't start....quick ?.....
Hi, We took the thermostat out, now it won't turn over, is that why? nothing else was changed and it started and ran fine right before this.....thanks....

There should be 3 or 4 small black wires that come together into a single lug connected to a bolt on the thermostat housing. Those wires ground the ECU system. If it is not connected, the car will crank but not start.

If it doesn't crank, that's a different problem. Check that you didn't pull the wire off of the starter by accident. If the starter makes noise but doesn't turn, check that the engine is not seized.

No. Taking the thermostat out doesn't really help anything though.
I assume it has been overheating, which is why I suggest checking that the engine is not seized or hydro-locked by turning it by hand with a socket on the crank bolt.

It was the starter ground......i took it off, sanded it with sandpaper put it back on and it started right up......thanks fellas.
