Default 99 ex stock airbox help

Bought a 99 ex coupe. D16y8 Stock all the way from the exhaust to the airbox.

Problem is. Previous owner had a cold air intake and upon putting the stock airbox back in left out a hose. The valve on the back left of the valve cover is open. Can't find anywhere for it to go. All the other lines have a home. I don't know if he looped hoses or what.

I really need a diagram of the stock airbox and where all the hoses go. I'll take pics of how he has everything tomorrow.

I've searched but can't find any info. If someone has a 99 ex with the stock airbox please post a pic of how all the hoses around the manifold look.

Thanks guys!

Edit -

Went ahead and took pics. Just have the small breather on there until I find out what to do.

Sadly it doesn't. Lol. Idk. I may pull the stock airbox and put in a cold air intake. How many bunges need to be on the piping for hoses? Idk if my 99 y8 is any different then any previous year but mines different then what I see when I Google images. I dont have the box that goes over the intake manifold my large air box to the left in the bay goes directly into the throttle body and there are bunges on the plastic hose for hoses to run into (as you can see in photos.)

Thanks. Any help appreciated.

What are concerns you? Everything looks hooked up. Are you talking about the filter on the valve cover? What's supposed to go there aside from that?

There shod be a breather hose running from the valve cover to the intake tube, where that red filter is now. It runs through that metal line between the valve cover and intake tube, the metal line has two lines, one is coolant, the other is breather line.

I will look for a picture for you tomorrow

It looks like the hose was ran to the bottom. If you notice the metal tube that is connected to the intake arm, that rubber hose at the other end is going down somewhere. you need to route it back to the valve cover.

See that metal line you have connected to the intake eblow that is closest to the throttle body? The rubber hose that connects to that is supposed to go where the red breather is on the valve cover.

Where is it routed now? Middle Earth?

That hose off the metal closed to the throttle body runs into the side of some sensor. I put the small red filter on the valve cover because it was just blank when I bought it so I didn't want it sucking in all kinds of ****. That hose we speak of runs from the metal down to here. Right off a sensor T

OP, does your intake tube have 2 holes or 3 holes? Meaning where your IAT(intake air temp) sensor and the metal pipe go into the intake tube, is there a third that is not vacant?

If not, you have a 96-98 intake tube. That valve in your last picture is part of your FIA(fuel injection air), the tube that comes off the center of the intake manifold, closest to the cylinder head, goes into the top of that valve, than the side port goes to your intake tube. The hose that is attached from the metal pipe goes to the port on the valve cover, through the metal tube into the intake tube.

Download a 96-00 Civic FSM and go to page 519, I can't post the page for some reason.

I think I have a 96 - 98 intake tube. Here's some pics. If I was to put a cold air intake on it. Where would all these hoses go?

Anyone confirm the intake tube and give me some ideas on a cai pipe that would work with my car. How many inlets does the cai tube need and where would the sensor go?

The solid hose coming out of your intake tube - where do you have that going? It should go into the valve cover where you have that red filter.

Intake tube is definitely 96-98 and not 99-00 after looking at your current pictures.

Just get a intake that fits 99-00 Civic Ex with FIA system(commonly called AIR injection), get one from a reputable company and they should include instructions as to where all the hoses go.

I would correct the hose routing you have now and pick up a used 99-00 intake tube, they are like $30 on ebay. Than when you do get an intake, you know everything is done the way it's supposed to be.

Alright. If anyone has a 99 ex with a stock airbox please post a photo I can use for future reference if needed. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Could I get the stock 99-00 intake tube and remove the large airbox and run a k&n cone filter or a blox velocity stack on the end of it where it meets the large stock airbox?

He can just use a t tap and connect the valve cover. BTW it doesn't blow out, its just ventilation and the when you open throttle thats when it sucks vented gases from the valve cover. Its back and forth, just look at the vaccum diagram.

Airbox has a giant crack where the filter goes all the way down the side to the bottom.

Can someone recommend a cheap cold air intake pipe that will have all the ports I need? I tried searching eBay. I just want a cheap *** pipe and I'll get a really good filter. Blox Velocity stack 3.5" maybe? I don't want a long intake pipe that sits low to the ground I want a shorter one that will allow the filter to live where the old airbox was. Thanks guys.
