99 EK subframe help
I have a 99 civic hatch I was in the middle of kswapping when shit hit the fan with my k series motor and I decided to trade for a b18c jdm gsr swap.
my problem right now is I have a dc2 crossmember installed with dc2 forks/hubs/lca's and all. Im not sure if this is going to be a problem swapping in the B series. I HAVE searched the internet for hours I would really like someones opinion. This is my first swap. |
Re: 99 EK subframe help
If you're using an EG/DC subframe you'll need an Integra T bracket as opposed to the '99 - '00 Si T bracket you would normally use.

Re: 99 EK subframe help
if you are using the stock altornater with the b18c you might need too hammer a dent in the subframe where the altornater would sit, but since you have the DC frame you might not have to.

Re: 99 EK subframe help
dent the subframe? the heck?

Re: 99 EK subframe help
You definitely don't need to dent to the subframe, nor would that help you since the alternator is nowhere near it. Some swaps require denting the driver's side frame rail for alternator clearance, but this isn't one of them.

I thought I might be in trouble, I bought my ek shell without any suspension or crossmember and going the K route I bought the dc2 setup. Im not sure if there are many other people who are going to be rockin a DC2 crossmember and suspension setup for a b18c in an EK ahaha |
