99 coupe agx w/ tein s tech or h&r lowering springs???
im going to be putting kyb agx's on my 99 coupe. it is my daily driver and it is really bumpy right now (tockico blues with cheapy coilovers, bought car with set up). anyways, im debating on tein s tech lowering springs or h&r's. i do want performance but not a bumby ride. also looking for a pretty good drop but nothing insane. i plan on putting 16's with some tires to close up the wheel well gap.
also are the springs going to sag over time to give me more of a drop?

i have s-tech. they have a nice ride. they dont really lower the car to much, but it looks nice and its kinda soft for spirited driving, but that may be more reflected from my tires. And i have the KYB agx's on a med. setting.

I run Tein S Techs and KYB GR-2 non-adjustable struts on my daily driver 1991 hatch, and I love the combo.
Ride is nice and smooth, but firms up a bit when turning due to the progressive rates.
Adjustables will actually be unnecessary and more money than you need to spend honestly. The KYB GR-2s work well with the S Techs and the GR-2s can be had for like $60.00 a piece, and the springs are only like $130.00-$150.00 or so.
Here's a pic of the drop my little beater has:

BTW I meant to say that the drop is roughly 1.5'' - nothing major.
My car in the pic has 14'' wheels with 195/60/14 tires. I'd imagine a 16'' wheel with a 205/45/16 might look nice in the wheel wells of a 96-00 Civic with the S Tech drop.

Your local shops are retarded.
Ground Control coilovers are the best sleeve coilover money can buy, and are highly respected and known in the tuning scene for their quality.
Seriously, search this site's archives for "koni yellow ground control", the proof is in the pudding.

Well hold the phone guys! I think I know a guy (me) that runs Koni Yellows with Ground Control coil-over sleeves with custom spring rates!!!
Car rides stiff as expletive, but handles amazingly well too. Note I said stiff, NOT bouncy.
Cars ride bouncy because the springs are too stiff for the struts. Koni Yellows can be set to be very stiff, so they have no problems even when paired with stiff coil-over sleeves. Skunk2 ain't got **** on my 425F/550R rates!

yeah dude, i would stay away from that shop, obviuosly they don't have a clue to what they are talking about.
ground controls are great, i would have gone with them, but i had a budget to stick too. i will say this, i currently have neuspeed race springs and koni yellows, and i can't complain. i love them to death, car handles alot better than stock.

Re: (EM1SON)
I would reccomend the H&R sport they will lower your car nothing too dramastic. All the threads that I have read H&R are amazing with some nice shocks such as KONI. illuminas, KYB you can not go wrong. If you want close to a stcok ride saying as comfortable ride then go with the Tein stech springs.

I've had my tein s-techs with tokico blues on 99 civic ex for about four years now and i've noticed minor sag. Would I recommend the S-Techs? Yes, Only if your looking for a comfy ride with a mild drop and don't mind sacrificing performance for comfort. I have no problem going over speed bumps or up steep drive ways

Bouncy and stiff are not the same thing.
As said before, bouncy comes from rates that are too stiff for the shocks. You can have bouncy springs.
If you want adjustability, great handling, a stiff ride, and a good drop .... get some Ground Control OTS-rated coils and either some Koni Yellows or Tokico Illuminas.

Re: (EK_B)
I have never driven the stehc tein springs before. I just got done installing a set of Ebach sport line srings on my 93. they give about 1.5 inch drop and am also running the kyb agx shock. I love the way the car handles nice and firm but not filling rattling.

i use to have just coilover sleves in my 94 civic with stock shocks, dont laugh now they were the apc thats way they were bouncy, thats when i was first getting into the honda scene - that thing was bouncy - hated it - but if u get good coilover with some good shocks i heard that there not the bouncy.
