does it say error? Or is the display blank? Try the power botton. It should turn still turn on and odd as long as it's hooked up. Also, check the fuse in your in-car fuse panel.

the screen is blank, buts its hooked up and the fuse is good. it came on for a second then instantly went away, it didnt even give me a chance to move my hand to put the code in

drive the car for an hour, and see if it comes up with "code" on the screen. or try resetting your batt one more time, and see if that helps

Yeah it sounds like as soon as it is coming on it's cutting back off. Maybe the power button is acting up or something.
