99 civic SI - Need coilovers & want a header + test pipe + o2 sim
I got a blown shock and after seeing what honda's price for a new strut is, I'm thinking this might be the perfect time to get some coilovers. What are some goods ones I would pick up for somewhere between $600-1000? I'm looking to lower the car, but nothing too extreme (I am currently in Michigan for school and Michigan roads are a big pothole).
Also I was looking at picking up a header and saw ebay has some really cheap ones (I'm seeing stainless 4-1 headers going for around $55-60 shipped). Are these any good?
Anyone know where I can get a test pipe (to ditch the cat) for cheap (preferably stainless), and a rear o2 simulator?

get Omni coilovers, IMO they are very good. Also as far as the header it will work but remember if you buy a cheap product except a cheap product. But if you get the ebay header im sure you can find a header/test pipe combo on there.

I have the same car as you. I run a set of Tein coil overs, ride is awesome!!
Headers, you get what you pay for!!! Although they won't net you much power, built quality is important, and btw, all stainless steel is NOT equal! The cheap SS pits up and does rust. Good quality stuff like brand name headers....Toda, Mugen, Apex-i, Edelbrock...ect, last longer than the car Something to think about
About a test pipe, waste of money! Your exhaust will sound crappier, smell bad, and no real power is to be gained by dong it.

Buddy club N+ spec coilovers. 850 Shipped @ inlinefour.com. have experience w. them theyre 15 settings from the top. so changing the smooth/harsh is easy from the top of the strut. for day/track.

ebay headers are fine, I run one and my friend does too, neither of us had any problems. just don't buy from people with bad rep or no rep. you need a seller who has good ratings, not bad ones.
as far as coil-overs, get the brand YOU want. they all do similarly the same thing. I prefer skunk2, but I'm a skunk2 *****. Most of my car has nothing but skunk2.
Get what you like and enjoy it.

What do you guys think is the likelihood that I will break a bolt trying to take off the header? I hadn't really thought about it until just now, but I bought this car in 03, and it is now 11 years old! Would the HP gains even be worth the risk of breaking a bolt and going through that hassle at this point?

You can pick up this setup for $899. Most of the Honda auto-x and HPDE guys swear by them..

I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw that they are selling headers for $65, but I bought the knockoff n1 catback from ebay for $200 shipped back in 04' and it is awesome. I can buff the middle of the exhaust with chrome polish and it will still shine.

Spray PB Blaster on the bolts...let it sit for 5 mins then the bolts will come off pretty easy. You can pick it up at the auto parts store.
