Default '99 Civic Si

My friend is looking at a '99 Civic Si and it's listed that they do not have ABS which is a nice thing to have when you live in Alaska where the roads are slick as hell a good portion of the year. Does anyone know if they do? any info would be appreciated. thanks.

99-00 Si (USA) does NOT come with ABS.
The new Si comes with ABS.

Nothing works on ice, if your on ice hope for the best but ABS makes a difference. I would rather have the car pump the brakes rather than me.

I guess ABS would be a little better but really it's there so you can steer while skidding because you can still move the tires. Now on ice when you move the tires it still probably won't change your direction too much, but it couuld be a little better though I wouldn't base a car buying decision on it.

it's not a option that he is basing his desion on but he just kinda thought it was akward that they didn't have it being the Si and all.

Yea, it sucks. They should have come with ABS as an option at least...

I would go with this route if you often experience situations where ABS would help.
