Default 99 civic Si

my cousin just bought a 99 civic Si all JDM'd out with the followin engine mods, aem cai, dc headers, aem cam cam gears, apexi n1 exhaust.. but it wont let him rev passed 8, do u think there is a rev limiter on the car or is that what they do? ive only hada gsr and type r motor b4 but im sure this isnt right, can any1 help me?

when did i say they r JDM, i said its JDM'd out, and those were the engine mods

maybe the tach is off or something it does have a rev limiter but u will no when it kicks in.

my 99 si rev limiter is set at 8200rmps like every other si

your tach has to be off, because the rev limiter on those cars is 8200. Get a new more precise tach, and make sure it is JDM

Your stock tach is fucked.
Why would you want to rev past 8K anyway? Power band on a stock EM1 drops off after 7800.
Tell him to drive like a normal person.
