Find a rallycross forum, seriously.

You'd likely need to put in some rally-spec coilovers, weld on some skid plates, and put in a B series to get some torque. You can do it on the cheap and just tear up the trails with your D series and learn how to actually race the car on the dirt, then upgrade as you need to.

Also find out who's doing it locally and get in touch with them and figure out what sanctioning body is around for legitimate racing.
