I've noticed that when i break the steering wheel pulls to the left. what could be causing that and what are the possible fixes.

also my steering wheel has a noticible amount of play in it. is there a way to fix that?

For some reason your left brake is stronger than your right. The simplest fix is to try cleaning them with brake cleaner, especially the right. The best way to go about it is to perform a brake job on at least the fronts. Change the pads, turn or replace the rotors and bleed the system.

You'll want to pinpoint where the play in the steering wheel is coming from. Jack up each corner and either have someone hold the steering wheel or wedge it in position with a holder tool. Grab the jacked up wheel and try wiggling it from side to side and top to bottom. If one wiggles, crawl underneath and have someone wiggle it while you watch the tie rods and ball joints to search for where the looseness is. If both wheels wiggle or the steering wheel can when the wheels are held still and there isn't any play in the tie rods, you probably need a new steering rack.
