Default 99 civic ex rear brake light problem

I just bought this 99 civic ex this week. There were serval bulbs that were burnt out, so i decided to replace all rear bulbs. Everything works fine, but the only problem i have is that
when i put the car in drive my reverse light are on(are on too when i go in reverse too). I also double checked if the right bulbs were in and that is ok. I do have 50/50 tail lights on the ccar, but dont know if that would cause that problem. Any one have any suggestions on what to do to fix this???

I would check all of your fuses make sure they are all good.. you can also take a dvom meter and take the bulb out and take the assembly they go into go have someone put your car in reverse turn the lights on and check to see if you have any voltage going back to that light if not then you could have an wiring problem
