Icon2 99 Civic EX...Converting it from an auto to 5-speed???

How hard is it and is it worth it? Pick up a 99 Civic EX for 1200.00. Want to build another car for a daily driver. I have never even thought about doing a conversion but I couldn't pass up this deal! The car has a bad tranny and needs some minor front end work. Other then that its cherry! Everything works! But anyways, how hard would it be to make it a 5-speed and how much money am I looking at spending approximately? What all would I need under the drivers side dash? I know about the ECU and all that good stuff. Is it gonna be worth it in the end is the main thing I am debating???

Thanks in advance!!!

I did my 98 EK sedan..
5 speed tranny, clutch, flywheel + bolts..
5 speed intake manifold with all sensors and throttle body
gonna need some 2 wire connectors
shift linkage, pedal set.. or just clutch + brake pedals.
Wiring wasnt bad.. like 5 wires where the auto shift selector was.. plus two wires to the reverse switch on 5 sp tranny.
you need to cut the pan where the auto shift cables go thru, drill holes for the shift linkage to bolt up.. and preferably weld in a plate where the shifter comes thru the body so the hole isnt too huge.

i might be missing something.. I did mine a year ago.. there was a write up in the how to section i believe

Cool...thanks for the info fellas. I think I am going to go ahead and convert it. I have the funds...just not the time. lol. The parts are gonna take up a bit of time to find. Would be nice if I could find a wrecked 5-speed. All I keep seeing are wrecked autos. Just my luck!

Oh well, I will get it. This is going to be my daily so I think I am just going to throw together another block(eagles and vitaras) and slap this y8 head on it. 57 trim t3/t4 .63 a/r. And all the other goodies of course. Just looking for 400whp daily and I will be happy. Oh and Im going to try and keep the a/c too. So this should be interesting. haha ;o)

Thanks again for the help!
