99 Civic EX build.
Well just got approved for this 99 civic EX. Unless the seller flakes I'm 99% sure that I'll be getting it. Since I'm new to the Honda world I'd like some advice on where I should go on this build.
I'm wanting a reliable, CLEAN, with a little pep kind of build. I want to lower it and put wheels on it first and foremost..
Here are the mods it currently has
99 Civic EX
Obviously all maintenance has been done so I'm starting with a solid platform.
What lowering springs does everybody suggest? I want it Low without sacrificing ride quality. Is that possible? lol
As far as wheels I've always had a thing for the Buddy club rims. Other suggestions are welcome though.
Then really all I need to know is what are the basic first performance mods you Honda folks usually do? I'd obviously like to turbocharge it down the road. Opinions on evo3 16g? I loved that turbo for my DSM's and it seems it would be small enough for a Honda.
Thank you and hope to hear all your opinions and suggestions

Clean indeed, maybe a lip kit thats not too wild and out plus compliments the silver. If anything find some koni's and be on the lookout for integra type r springs.

Appreciate your opinion. Not one to screw up cars but each has their own preference.
I for sure want a lip. I'll be on the lookout for some Koni's.

OP- stance is the rice of today. Just as altezza tail lights, body kits, and park bench wings were the rice of the early 2000's, stance is a stupid rice trend focused solely on appearance. difference between the godawful ricers of yesteryear and the retarded stance fanbois of today is that at least the OG ricers didnt make their cars unsafe with their horrible taste. as far as lowering goes, anything LOW isnt going to ride well, period.

Fair enough, however these "what should I do to my car" threads of late are a little silly. My suggestion remains the same however if he did want to go down that route there are "safer" stretches then others ex: I won't do lower then a 195/45 on a 8'' rim with maybe -2 camber.

We prefer the term "hard parker"

tanabe springs have a comfort series the drop is only about .5 in but it retains factory ride quality
or tein coilovers for full adjustability. tanabe has coilovers but theyre almost double of the good teins

as for wheels i love the Honda Fit wheels and they will fit on civics 4x100mm

Okay well it doesn't need to be ungodly low. Just lower than stock to remove some wheel gap. Other than lowering and rims I don't plan on much else as far as exterior besides a front lip. Thank you for your replies

Heavier wheel = lower effective torque. Bigger wheel = heavier wheel. For most performance vehicles, it's a balance between keeping the wheel small for weight, but keeping it big enough that you can get a good enough tire for it.
In the Honda world, that means 15" or 16" wheels, 6.5" to 7.5" wide depending on what tire you're using. What tire you use depends entirely on what you're going to do with the car. I think that breaks it down fairly easily, but do I need to make a flow chart?

Re: 99 Civic EX build.
If cost is not an issue im running full adjustable dampening buddy club coils and 15x7 +35 wheels with 195/55r15 tires.
It rides amazing. Tires arent rubber bands and you can still lower it too look nice. The wheels are flush with my fenders not "stanced" or cambered to death.

Yay for a link to a deleted image?
+35 isn't a horrible offset. Stock is something like +42, so as long as you keep it in the 35-45 range, you can get away with a lot of things. My Black Racing Pro N1's are 15x7, +42, and I (and most people that notice them) absolutely love them.

Re: 99 Civic EX build.
Thanks for the replies! Just got back from seeing the car and signing some paper work so its official. Won't be able to get it for a couple days but the car is everything I expected and then some. Front bumper and hood are fading some but I can deal with that for now. The fenders need to be replaced also since their are a few dents on them. Like I said I want to make this thing super clean. Anybody have any suggestions on where to get replacement fenders? Or should I just hope CL will have something lol.

Re: 99 Civic EX build.
This.
I'd be happy with getting the paint cleaned up and an oem lip.
The koni/itr springs sounds like a damn good idea for a daily and sporty ride.
I like fat tires so I have 205/50/15 re-11's and love them.
Good luck with the car.
