99 civic ex auto to manual swap

99 civic ex auto to manual swap
I just swaped a complete 2000si swap into an auto ex. I cant get the key out......
I also cant get the reverse lights to work
help please

At any rate, I did a similar swap and the reason you can't get your key out is becuase you have to connect some wires together at your old Automatic shift linkage harness in order to trick the ignition into believeing the car is in PARK.
if you read through the link i posted and get to the wiring section you will see what i'm talking about. Maybe there are differences between an OBDIIa and OBD2b wiring harness maybe someone else can pitch in....
There should be two large black wires (one has a red stripe) and one smaller black/blue wire connected to a gray clip where your auto linkage was. I connected the large black with red stripe to the smaller blue/black wire. I connected those two to one side of my clutch safety switch. then I connected theother large black wire to the clutch safety switch as well ( so then you complete the circuit when the pedal is pushed and you cant start the car without pushing the pedal. And your key will come out.
