99 Civic DX - Ignition Cylinder Issue
Hey all,
I could use some advice on how to proceed with removing my ignition key cylinder. I've been following the instructions posted here (https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/ignition-cylinder-replacement-2557632/) but have been unsuccessful. This post (https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/replacing-ignition-key-cylinder-tumbler-need-help-2659747/) mentions a security screw, does this apply to the 99? And if so where is the thing?
In any case, any tips or tricks? Or am I stuck buying the entire (more expensive) ignition key assembly?
Thanks,
SK

Re: 99 Civic DX - Ignition Cylinder Issue
try turning the key back and forth when your pushing on the pin.
if the pin pushes down all of a sudden then pull on the key and the lock tumbler will come out with it.
