99 Civic DX cuts out and dies
Hello guys. I am new to this forum so bear with me. I have a 99 Civic DX auto...I have maintained this car meticulously and what not. Owned the car for 4 years with no issues got it with 50,000 now it has roughly 126k. Anyway everything was running well until I had my avital remote start put in. Here's the deal, the car runs perfectly fine and when you drive it for 10-15 minutes or so the car motor will just cut out and die...almost like it's not getting fuel but that's not the case. You wait roughly 40 minutes and the car will start right back up again. So far I've replaced the fuel filter and the coil...things were running real smooth for roughly 2-3 weeks after and recently it started happening again. This is getting extremely frustrating due to the fact that it's an odd problem that can't exactly be diagnosed easily. I recently purchased an entire new distributor and have yet to put it on so we'll see how that goes. If anyone else has any input on this situation everything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I think it's a bad ICM, so I believe replacing the distributor will solve the problem.
When the engine won't start:
1) Does the fuel pump fail to prime (=possible bad main relay, although bad main relays are uncommon for 96-00 Civics)
2) Is there no spark at the plugs (=possible bad ICM)

Well since the whole distributor unit can't be returned might as well install it. My dad is going to put it in for me tomorrow so we'll see how that works for now. I appreciate the input guys. The relay is also a possibility but I'm open to any suggestions at this point im scratching my head haha. And this project is getting rather expensive.

Thanks for the input fellas. Put the new distributor in roughly 3 days ago and have had no issues so far. Let's just hope this is a complete solution. I believe it was the ICM like Ron had said.
