99 Civic Cracked exhaust manifold -- best replacement?
I'm new to Hondas; the exhaust manifold cracked on my wife's Civic, and I'm thinking, why replace it with another POS part from the factory? I'd like to go with a performance exhaust system -- it's gotta be better than factory, right? Now, granted, my wife won't go for anything loud. I'm more of an "old school" hot rodder and not familiar with the specifics of 4-banger hop ups, but I'm thinking at a minimum, I've gotta have headers, some provision for the O2 sensor, cat converter, pipes, and a quiet performance exhaust.
I'd be shocked if there aren't already a dozen kits already made for the Civic. Anyone have any recommendations/warnings/parts sources?
Rick

You weren't specific about what kind of civic it is. However there are plenty of bolt-on/replacement headers available.
DC Sports, Kamikaze, there's an absurd amount of aftermarket headers available. DC sporst header is a good start. Alot of ppl use that without too many reports of problems.
Welcome to Honda-tech. Alot of users here will flame you for not searching, so if you have time, search, you'll learn alot. Always search for more

hey, welcome to h-t!
as far as sound is concerned, i had a catback exhaust when i added a dc sports header and high flow cat - it definitely got louder. there may be no way around that.
you can probably find some header in the classifieds (i did, thanks ricey!) for cheap.
i have a dc sports ceramic 4-2-1 header and it's a direct bolt on. i have no experience with fitment of other headers but i had no problems with mine whatsoever.
hope it helps. good luck.
