yes it will fit. what are you talking about? a normal single DIN sized head unit (OEM or aftermarket) will bolt into the stock 96-98 civic radio location, or down below by the cupholders. a 99+ OEM head unit will *NOT* however plug in to your radio plug. You'll have to get an adapter harness, or buy a 99+ plug with wires and cut of your radio plug splice it into your radio harness.

yeah it will fit if you want it to look like a damn RIG the 96-98 radio is a little bigger than single DIN and if he were to buy the car kit for it then it will still look like a RIG personally i like my cars to look clean like a damn RIG i can make a radio from a mercedes work in there if i wanted to all you do is CUT AND SPLICE WIRES like you said and ruin the radio clip...

Re: (TuCKiNaLL4s)
you said in your first post that it will not fit unless you do a 99+ dash conversion. incorrect info.
my recommendation is to leave the stock radio in place, and put the 99+ down below in the opening by the cupholders.
oh, and you don't have to cut the stock plug if you don't want to. just get an adapter for an aftermarket stereo install in your car, then get a 99+ radio plug and splice it into the adapter. then you'll have yourself a harness adapter.
