99-00 wiring harness....
hello all.
i have a 2000 civic cx.
im going to do a B-series swap, and i want to run OBD2-OBD1 conversion kit.
in order to do the swap, would i need a 99-00 engine harness? would that harness work?
sorry if this is a noob question, but i need to know.
thanks guys.

First of all, what B-series swap do you want to get? B16? LS? GSR?
Technically, since you have a 2000 Civic, you already have a 99-00 harness. It can be modified to run a B-series engine by simply lengthening a few wires and moving a couple pins in the ecu plugs. If you aren't up for modding it, get a harness from a 99-00 Civic Si.
To run OBD1 you will buy yourself an OBD2b-to-OBD1. You can pick up a good one from http://www.boomslang.us for only $74 shipped, they are good too.

Yeah you can use that one, just have to extend a few wires and if you are using the GSR computer you'll have to add the circuit for the IAB solenoid (secondary intake runners). Other than that you won't have to change any pins around at the plugs. You can ignore the secondary O2 sensor if using the OBD1 conversion, I did that in a friends car for him, I ended up using the leftover wires for other stuff, you could do that for your IAB wiring...

Re: 99-00 wiring harness.... (klungemonger)
as for mods on the GSR motor, i am only running a Skunk2 intake maifold (which doesnt have secondaries i believe). also for the ECU, i am in the process of purchasing a P28.
what other problems would i run into?
what would be the ideal engine harness for my plans?

The ideal harness would be a 99-00 Si, you wouldn't have to modify it at all to use in your setup. The p28 is the most versatile ecu, it operates on the least amount of sensors and can be chipped to run any engine. With that Skunk2 manifold you don't need to worry about the IAB's either. All good!
