Default 99-00 Vs 96-98 Civics

Are there any other diffrences between these two year ranges. I know theres a diffrent front bumper on the 99/00 and red/clear tails, but is there anything else?

Actuall the whole front end is different. Bumper cover, headlights, fender, hood. I believe there are some differences in the engine too, intake manifold for example. Interior has some changes, like the climate control I think.

Hey just looked at my friends 96-98 hatch ... the trunk is also different. the 96-98 you can unlock the trunk from the driver side... 99-00 you freaking need the key and unlock it from the trunk!! I was soo pissed when I found this out.. I just might try and swap the 96-98 setup into my trunk... also DX 99-00 has power steering..

neither car has glass headlights, I have both, a 98 and a 200o hatch, they both have plastic / lexan lenses. The front ends are different, the engines are basicly the same and the interior is different well the dash is the same but the seats have different patterns and the climate control is whacked in the 00. Never looked at weight, hers is and auto mine is a stick.

I have a 96 Civic Ex Coupe, and my friend had a 99 Civic Ex Coupe. These were all the differences I could tell.

-His car drivers seat had a support ****.

-Front end was different: headlights, hood, fenders. Rear bumper had a slight lip on it, and the taillights were different.

-His interior climate setup was different than mine, as well as the cupholder. He also had a map light up top. Mine did not have that, although I believe 98's did.

-His paint was slightly different. He had Flamego Black Pearl, while mine is Granada.

-He had different hubcaps. I believe they came along in '98.

That is it from what I can remember. Engine was virtually the same.

i like the 96-98 front end with it's bigger airdam... more cool air... and also for the fact that the 96-98 is over 100 lbs lighter... plus of course the climate control on the 96-98 is not all wierd.

thats why, its cheaper, to find a 96,97 and put the 99-00 front end on it, and red/clear tails, save some money, and noone will tell

the majority of the people like the looks of the 99-00 better....and when i had my 97 ex cpe i always wanted to do a 99-00 convo....but there are some die hard people that like the looks of the 96-98's better. I remember when 96 styles first came out, and me and my friends, would always call them "you know the New civics...with the Titty lights." they looked like big ole' *******..compared to 92-95

I have a helms manual for the 96-00 civics and it shows that the 99-00 civics are about 2-4 inches wider than the 96-98 civics
