Default 99-00 Si tranny final drive Question

Ive been having this debate with a few people, and im getting all kinds of answers. My question is, what is the final drive in the 99-00 Si tranny? Im pretty sure its 4.4, but some people claim it has the LS 4.266. Can anyone confirm what the actual final drive is???

If this helps you make you decision, it is the same as the type-R, minus the LSD

Katman personally checked it out himself. He swears it's 4.266

Just check out your rpm at 80 in fifth gear and compare to an ls owner

I think that's just wishful thinking on the Si guys's part.

http://www.bseries.net/html/specs/btrannyspecs.php check this out-the only b 16 tranny with 4.266 FD is the JDM Y1, which is what i thought from the beginning.

i'm 100% positive when i compared them (honda's brochure and also ITR brochure), the Si gears are exactly the same as the USDM ITR gears (all gears and FD). Si tranny of course does not have LSD.

Thanks everyone for the speedy replies. I thought i was going crazy or something, 4.266 in a VTEC tranny, not in the US at least

it is 4.40:1. very very sure. every major auto magazine that has specs list the final drive to be 4.40. As far as ratio, Si's have the exact same ratio as the type R. ITR final drive is 4.40. I dunno how these "some people" come up with 4.26.

Well, i think some people looked at this B16 website. I saw it too, and its incorrect. The only USDM tranny with a 4.266 is the LS tranny.

If you look at the factory 99-00 Civic brocheres it states that the Civic Si has a 4.40 final drive. No disrespect to Katman, but the actual peeps that make the car would know more about whats put into their cars if at anything.

The only b16 the cames with 4.266 FD was the JDM B16 on the CRX.

Yup, 4.4 FD on Si, but my Helms has it misprinted as 4.2... Same cruising speed when I went from Si to R tranny.

Do the gears end @ the same RPMs in the Si and ITR trannies? Ive driven a couple Sis and they dont seem to have longer gears than my buddies ITR, but they are shorter than my GSR gears.
