I had a 00 civic ex before i bought my 00 Si. My insurance dropped $10. I doubt they consider it a sports car.

Mine was great the first year I owned it. It was one of the first ones out there, and it seems that when the insurance industry found out who was buying the cars (after about a year), the rates skyrocketed. Thanks Stunners!

I guess I'm not helping by buying the best coverages possible.

it's a 2-door coupe.
A sports car, is a RWD, two-door, NOT sedan based. IE vette, miata, RX-7.

You company should know that a civic coupe is a two-door version of the civic sedan.

Motorcycles don't have doors.

hell yeah they consider it a sports car...when I went to my insurance company to get a quote they asked me if I really wanted it...since it jumped almost double from the EX to the Si

I guess from the looks of it, it just depends on your insurance company and who you deal with.

I think insurance rates are high on all Civics because they are popular with thieves.

I went from a 96 EX Sedan to a 2000 Si Coupe but my insurance only went up $2 a month.

I think that is just a myth. If it's true, then find another insurance company.

i went from a 99 ex to 99 si...my rate dropped by about a hundred bucks...now that im a yr older and my rate is about to renew, my Si is now 20 bucks more than my 2k1 ****** weird

the color red is myth when it comes to the police.

a recent study on CNN reviled that white is the number one color that cops look for when searching for speeders. Why? More people by white, assuming that the cops will not be looking for white speeding cars.


I have a few contacts in different aspects of the insurance business, and pretty much every type of insurance, premiums rose after 9/11/01. So...it's not weird. Lloyds of London had underwritten the policy for the World Trade center, and about 75% of the companies that occupied the three collapes buildings, the other four buildings that made up the World Trade Center.
