99-00 Si IAC valve question

I have a 99 Si and the IAC valve code is being thrown. I was just wondering if I have to get an IAC from another 99-00 Si or are there other motors out there with the same IAC valve as mine (ex. B series motors)? Just so I can call a few junk yards and let them know what I am looking for and from what cars they can come from.

Thanks

have you tried cleaning the screen on it yet?

Skillz 08-17-2004 12:59 PM

Honestly not yet....I recently turboed the car too. I will do that definately before I decide to just by another IAC....but just in case it is bad I just wanted a heads up of what other IACs are compatible with the B16A2.

Take off the valve and clean the screen. Do you happen to have a cold air intake? That usually causes newer vehicles to start throwing the IAC code. Usually if you set the idle speed again (correctly), it will go away. 95% of the time, its not the valve itself.

I believe honda only have 2 kind of iacv. not positive but i think B and D are interchangable and F and H are interchangeable

I will try and clean it asap...I dont have a Cold air intake....just a drag turbo kit.

I believe the CEL can be thrown for it even with a vacuum leak. Make sure you don't have any of those.

Exactly what code did it show?

some d series are not interchangable with b, some d series use a 3 wire rotary type... like on my dx civic , which I had to get re wired to 2 wire IACV for my b16 swap https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

It threw code 14.

I'm not throwing any cel's but i believe my IACV is messed up because I have a horrible idle problem that goes away when the car is on and I unplug the IACV.

If i take it out and clean the screen and it doesnt help, i'd also like to know which one's i may be able to replace it with...

thanks.
