99-00 Civic Remote Entry module location?
Hi I was wondering where the remote entry module is located. My Si did not come with the actual entry remote, and my guess is that it probably has the module installed from the factory, i just wanted to make sure i had it before I go buy a remote. Could anyone tell me exactly where I can find it to see if i have this option? (i have tried searching but looks like the old topic has been removed...)
Thanks guys

For '99-'00 the keyless entry was NOT on the radio. So your car still should have it.

96-98 it's in the radio, 99-00 it is behind the kick panel by the drivers foot. Small whiteish grey box with 2 metal things to bolt it down.

When you get your remote at the dealer, you have to program it.
It goes like this
(make sure you have all the doors closed)
insert key in ignition, turn key to the on position press the lock button
then right away turn the key off
repeat this a few times, until you hear the locks going. Then you are done
You have to be very quick when you do this to get it to work.
If you are having trouble, They will probably do this for you for free.

I have never been charged by the dealer to program my remotes. And I have had three different Honda dealers do this for me for free. The last time they showed me how to do it so I can do it myself now. I was having trouble doing it because I wasn't doing it fast enough.

Re: (jfang)
Hey guys looking to buy a remote for the stock keyless entry for my Si. From what I have read, the 99-00 EX and Si are the same FCC number??... Is this true? Cause my module reads FCC ID A269ZUA123 and all the ones I have been finding are A269ZUA106.

Re: (leblanc3)
hey man, i jsut tried programming mine, with the 106 ending FCC ID, it unlocks (meaning it was verified) however, when i got out of the car, it doesn't work... i wonder if needs to be the other FCC Id you're talking about...

Re: (jfang)
Yeah that sucks. I could only find the 106 keypads. I dont know where to find the 123's...Everywhere says that 99-00 si and ex are the same. I guess I should keep looking for the actual one. Let me know if you find out anything else

Here are the only keyless remote part numbers I could confirm. Of course Honda parts don't have the same part numbers on them. But this will show you which trims and years use the same exact remotes.
If it's the same part number, it's the same EVERYTHING.

Re: 99-00 Civic Remote Entry module location? (jfang)
So I emailed Originalkeyless.com and they said that each civci module will have a different FCC code, and that the 106 one will work for it for sure. So I would try reinstalling it again, and seeing if for some reason that was the problem. Let me know how it goes.

Like I posted above, ALL '99-'00 EX/Si trims in the US hatch the same exact type of keyless remote.
Honda doesn't use the same part number for two different parts.

just to updated you, the ebay auction that i won the FOB from (every time i see fob i read it as Fresh Off Boat, random tangent) said that the FOB came off of a 2000 EX, which should work for mine. Like i said before, i hear the validation because of the lock motors going off. however afteri pull out the key and try it. nothing.
