Default 99-00 civic front end conversion

ok before anyone says anything i did search and nothing all too useful came up and this is the quickest and most to the point way of doing this

other than the obvious, front bumper cover, headlights, and grill...is there anything else you need for the 99-00 civic front end on a 96-98 civic hatchback? the front end will be going on a 97 CX.

Rad support.

you can modfy the 99-00 bumper to the excisting rad support on the 96-98 or replace it.

No you don't have to modify ****. i have a 96 coupe and i did the conversion very easy. You need the 99-00 hood, fenders, bumper. and grill. as for the radiator support, you use the stock one. you have to cut off the peiece on the support where the bumper attatches right in between the grill and and the headlight. thats the only part that dosent line up cause if you look at the size of the grill the 99-00 one is wider. but you can just cut it with a pair od snips.

LOL, I really do regret my front conversion just alittle. I should've just bought a 99-00 civic. The fitment of conversions are terrible, everything of mine fits OKAY. Compared to OEM? It's crap. I just bought the whole conversion from password, and I had to cut my radiator support to fit it in. My front conversion looks way better then the guy above. Only issue is that, the sides where the fender & bumper connect leave a 1mm gap. The hood, headlights, and everything fits just fine.

My bro did the same thing. His came out very good. As mentioned above, just need to snip near the headlights. I think he also used the 99 headlight support brackets, don't recall. But the AC was not fun...

That bumper and fender fitment is going to always be an issue if I had pics I'd show you mine really looks like crap right now, Because I need to roll the edges of the bumper reinforcment so the bumper will slide back a little more. But the gap is one hundred percent fixable. Go to Home Depot pick up some bolts and washers and get rid of those two grommets. You need to stick the bolt through the mounting hoes place a washer in between the fender and bumper and below the bumper so the bolt doesnt pop out. After that tighten them down and there you have it they should be a better more clean looking fit.

To the OP:

Things youll need
99-00 Hood
99-00 Fenders
99-00 Bumper cover
99-00 Grill
99-00 Headlights
96-98 front radiator support useable

1. Take off all existing parts in the front clip of the car including Hood, Fenders, Grill, Bumper, And headlights.
2. Replace Front radiator support if you really so desire but there is no point its just spending a couple more hundred bucks.
3. First put on your 99-00 Headlights these are the main foacle point of the car so everything should be aligned around them. Dont tighten them completely around after everything is placed you need to shift and fit.
4. Attach your 99-00 Fenders you need at the least a 3-5 mm gap between your door and the fender for opening clearance.
5. If you opted to use your existing rad. support the two front bumper mounting tabs need to be cut. You need to remove 1/2" from the grill side of each one and go from there until the bumper cleanly fits over them on both sides.
6. After you have cut them place the bumper on drill the two new holes needed in the mounting tabes and attach the front bumper.
7. Now place a bolt on each side of the fender to hold the bumper fender gap together. Place a washer in between the bumper and fender and one below the bumper tab to keep the bolt from popping through.
8. Attach your front grill to your bumper and radiator support all mounting holes are in the same places so no new holes will need to be drilled.
9. Bolt on your hood and adjust it so it fits correctly and evenly everywhere.
10. Lastly check all of your gaps make sure they are clean and even and you should be set.

Just so you know some people have had to cut some of the edge off the bumper reinforcment so the cover will sit back correctly. I am having this problem but not everyone does, So get everything on first, If after you are done your bumper is not seating correctly you may need to slighty modify your existing reinforcment so your bumper will properly fit.
Thats all I can think of if I'm not 100% correct please correct me.
And Gl with your conversion
