You can remove the stiffener bracket with no ill effects. Most of the '92 - '95 civics never came with them in the first place.

Were those new or used?

The problem is most ebay headers are for Ex's not lx or dx's, those cars had a cat built into the manifold.

The dc might or might not fit since they are designed for ex's as well. You might be able to have an exhaust shop do something, like make a short flex pipe.

I don't have the bracket on my DC 4-2-1 headers and I've had no problems so far. I have a 3 inch cat back exhaust, so that add's a little weight as well.

An EX manifold and downpipe fits on a DX/LX just fine, I did it on my old sedan. I really don't understand why it would matter with a header.

If the midpipe doesn't fit to the header, just cut the midpipe and fit a flex pipe in. It was kinda dumb not having one in in the first place how Honda designed the cars. The donut flex thing seems kinda crappy to me.

It is crappy. I would recommend fitting in flex pipe somewhere anyway just to avoid breaking the welds on the manifold. Especially if its an ebay one.
