98 hx how to make the 5 wire 02 sensor your primary and get rid of the secondairy 4 wire?
i got a 98 hx with a z6 head and its converted from ob2 -> obd1 with a p28 now the p28 looks for 1 4 wire primairy o2 sensor and the hx come with a 5 wire primairy and a 4 wire secondairy...
how do i wire the primairy 02 sensor to a 4 wire or make the secondairy that is in there now (4 wire) the primairy and bypass the primairy now (5 wire)
i searched and checked the faq's at the top of the page and didint find too much out

you need to find the ecu pinouts for a p28 and figure out what wires coming from the ecu are for the four wire o2 sensor and wire your four wire o2 sensor to those wires and just disconnect the 5 wire o2 sensor since the p28 only uses one 4 wire o2 sensor. If the four wire o2 is behind the cat then you will need to move it before the cat for proper operation.

yea its after the cat but can be moved easily i was just wondering if anyone had a writeup on how to convert the harness's 5 wire to a 4 wire
but im begining nobody knows what im talking about lol
i think its gona come down to finding the pin outs on the p28 and using a conduity tester to find the right wires at the plug but like i said i was wondering if you could just get rid of one wire and wire a 4 wire in there or an easier way than that

why dont you just use the z6 harness. never heard of this being done before though. what part of central fl? if you complete this i wouldnt mind seeing how you did it because im thinking of doing the same thing to my hx

Just run the wires solo from the o2 straight to these locations:
WHT - WHT/RED wire goes to D14 which is O2 Sensor Input
BLK - ORG/BLK wire goes to A6, which is Heater Control
GRN - GRN/WHT wire goes to D22 which is Sensor Ground
BLK - YEL/BLK wire goes to A25 which is Sensor voltage (you can also splice into the power junction harness at the driver side shock tower harness)

BLK - ORG/BLK wire goes to A6, which is Heater Control
GRN - GRN/WHT wire goes to D22 which is Sensor Ground
BLK - YEL/BLK wire goes to A25 which is Sensor voltage (you can also splice into the power junction harness at the driver side shock tower harness)
