98 Honda civic over heats, now throws constant cel. Ect ect
Okay guys, my car over heated and I drove to the nearest gas station to get some coolant, after it cooled down, I go and start it, car idles rough, and now throws a constant blinking cel with out me jumping the service connector, it miss fires and doesn't start unless jumped by another car, I'm thinking the alternator is causing the power/car to not start on it's own the main thing I'm confused about is the constant blinking cel, I've never seen this happened before! I need help asap as my car is stranded at a parking Lot! Help guys! Thanks!

you gotta take the jumper out of the cel plug, that would cause constant blinking. chances likely, your head gasket is bad. jusdging from past experiences.
just throwin that out there

well hopefully its just a blown headgasket, the service connector isnt jumped, the cel would come on, i would let the car idle and then it would blink constantly by itself (service connector not jumped)

one thing at a time, why is it over heating and what is the code, are you low on coolant did you have air bubbles, do you have a coolant leak, compression test, oil in coolant? compression test, etc???????

it depends how hot it got. I have had mine get pretty hot. I also had a pin size hole in one of my coolant lines, they are very annoying.
missfire in cyl 2 could be spark plug, wires, dizzy, maybe timing but I couldnt see it being that for one cylinder.
