98 GC/Koni : Loose Springs
Just finished a install of GC/konis on a 98 civic DX. Sway bars being shipped.
Anyhow, install went well and they work great. On lower settings, though, the springs get loose. I called GC and they don't seem to think it's a big deal, and the stiffer shocks and sway bars should keep the spring seated. If I was going for a bigger drop I'd get the helper springs, but I'd be quite happy with the car about 1.5" from where it is now (about 1" over stock, 4x4 look).
Any comments or suggestions? We're going to put the car up for the sways when they get here in a week or so, any changes we make we want to do then. Forgot to cut the bumpstops, so they have to come apart anyhow, I think.
Doing my prelude in a month, and I suspect I'm going to run into the same issue again. Both cars are autoX'd a lot, and I don't know if the tech guys are going to have issues or not.
Thanks!

It's fine. Unless you're autoxing on San Francisco streets and jumping hills between cones, there's not a whole lot to worry about. Either raise the car up to where the spring is seated or order longer springs from GC, if it's really going to bother you.
The tech guys will have absolutely no clue as to where your springs are when your car is jacked up, either.

Re: 98 GC/Koni : Loose Springs (SkyeC)
The konis came from GC on the middle clip, so I'm going to drop that down to the bottom clip. Need to order some spares in case they get mangled. I think I can probably lower .5" - .75" on the sleeve before I start getting wigged out.
I raised the car so the front/rears are seated now. Nice in winter, I guess.
Do you have any input on how low you can go before you might get concerned?
Thanks a lot for the help. I just find it odd nobody is concerned about it, but maybe that's a good thing, too. On the strut-style installs, they zip tie the spring to the top hat. Civic, of course, is different. I thought about drilling the mount on the civic, but there's not a lot of room there to play with.
Guess I'm just paranoid .
