Default 98 Front Shocks replaced - car now sitting 2" higher in the front

I recently redid my front shocks after noticing one of my coils were broke.

I replaced both fronts with these: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ral#fragment-1

Now my car is sitting 2" higher in the front than it used to. Measuring from the center to the wheel well in the back is 13" in the front it's 15". Will this difference eventually settle out or did I do something wrong?

I read about redoing the shocks and the only thing I did different was we stood on the brake disk to push the lower control arm down to hook the dampener fork to it instead of jacking the dampener fork up to the control arm. Would this have caused the shock to be too extended? I would think either way wouldnt make a difference, but this was the first set I've done.

Anyone have any insight on this? Should I maybe loosen the dampener fork bolts with the car sitting on the ground to see if it relaxes it out a bit more or what? I know new springs sit a little higher for awhile, but 2" seems like quite a bit.

When was the last time your rear struts were replaced? Its possible they're worn out but not "broken", especially if they're still the OEM units from 98.

They're still OEM in the rear. I'm going to undo the dampening fork tomorrow and lift the wheel up to ride height and compress the shock and re-bolt it up. If that doesn't help I guess I need to replace the rear ones too. Read on here though the height should be 13" to wheel center and I'm at 15" right now. 2" doesn't sound like a lot until you drive it. LOL
