Are you staying OBD2 ? , you can make the block work. a few sensors are missing. Mainly the one on the front oil pump crank angle . so you would need to use an obd2 oil pump.
But the majority of the sensors are on the head part.

Are you dropping the full motor, or using the block and swapping on your y8 head ?

The few people I have seen with z6 blocks in obd2 cars are running obd1 ecus tuned.

Yeah, im staying obd2 for now.

D16y8 Head ( Im keeping )
D16z6 block ( im trying to use )

Ive got and extra obd2 oil pump Is that all i need to change? On a y8 block theres a sensor under the intake manifold part ( on the block ) What about this one?

You can use the block, it wil be fine. You can switch over an OBD2 oil pump OR just bypass the crank sensor (google search). The sensor on the back of the block that i believe u are talking about is the knock sensor.

Hmm i dont like that bypass method looks ghetto. And ghetto is not the way to do things. Causes problems down the road.

then easiest way is installing the obd2 oil pump setup . the other sensors are the same.

knock
oil pressure
waster temp
etc .
