98 ek Civic gauge swap?
I have a 98 civic dx with the 5 speed manual trans in it. The gauge cluster it came with does not have a tach in it. I wanted to see what other model and year cluster I can swap into it to include a tach and still keep that factory look. Also how difficult would it be?

Any 96-00 civic cluster will be plug n play. Also crv clusters. Google it.

Re: 98 ek Civic gauge swap?
I had the same issue in my 97 DX. I bought a 99-00 Civic Si gauge cluster off eBay. Like Marvin1985 said, plug n play. Had it in the car for years now, works great.

Here, i put a few collages together: It's not difficult at all, just be careful, don't fuck with the needles as they're very easy to break. You just need to get a philips screwdriver to do the job 2 screws holding the bezel Then 4 screws on the 4 corners of the cluster The wiring primarily are 2 wide blue connectors and 1 yellow, sometimes an orange and another one I forgot We all should thank Honda for making cluster swaps incredibly easy. For my 240sx, I had to rip apart all the buttons, the bottom half of the driver side of the dash, the steering column, and so much bullshit. Attachment 519159 OP, since you have a 96-98 front end, here's 96-98 lips too Attachment 529222 More info on 96-00 Civic modifications here: http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=219682 |
