98 ecu problems or not?
I just bought a 1998 civic ex coupe automatic it originally had a d16y8 with the p2p ecu until the motor seized now it has a d16y7 with both ecu and engine out of a 2000 civic with 42k the ecu is a p2e-a92 and the salvage yard(s) are saying It needs a p2e-L82. The problem Im having is the motor is sluggish under load and back fires every once in awhile Its also throwing two codes wich are p1259 fuel metering malfunction and p1399 electric ignition malfuntion or misfire. Could the ecu make a difference or is it another problem. Can anyone help?

i BELIEVE that the (a92) and (l82) are the transmission letters. they are both a p2e...just one is for an auto and the other is for a manual. im not 100% but i think that is it...

a little bit of research goes along way p2e-a92 ecu is for a 99-00 automatic d16y7 wiring harness and the p2e-L82 ecu is for 98 automatic d16y7 wiring harness! now I wonder what the difference between the d16y8 wiring harness and the d16y7 and are they compatible other than two plugs for vtec?
