98 dx bad rings

98 dx bad rings
Ok guys dnt be rude but i just picked up a 98 dx ek hatch,it needs new piston rings from what the guy told me.is there a not to expensive engine i can drop in it instead of trying to fix it?jus need a daily driver nothing fast.

changing the rings is really not the hardest of things the engine can remain in the car, pull the head drop the pan and pickup then unbolt the rods slide the pistons up threw the cyls, could be a ringland also while they're out hone as well i'd think you'd need new rod bearings also. his may be beyond you but a cheap replacement....just get another y7/y8 maybe 5-600$ max

Meaning I'm not trying to waste more than 5-600.i have always had a crx so this 98ek is a Lil different to me.ive never worked on anything newer than a 91 lol.thats y I needed some opinions but I guess I'll just look for a good block around town.thanks for the replies

It has a z6 in it right now but i was told to put a y8 back on it cus of a sensor.is it better to put a y8 back on or can i still put a z6 in thats healthy?
