98 D16Y fit in my 93 DelSol??
I went to a local junkyard to look for a motor for my 93 delsol that i picked up for $700. i found a civic that had been totaled in the ass end with the complete motor there. On the front window it said a 94, which in reality it was a 98 but some of the 8 got smudged an looked like a 4. So me not knowing that it was a 98 pulled the whole motor out with tranny ( looks amazingly clean its disgusting ) an went to pay for it an he said it was a 98 an I was pissed off cause i spent that whole time for nothing. so i paid $200 for the motor an tranny, awesome deal right? well i know the 98 motor is a obd2 an my delsol is a obd1, now is there any way i can make the motor work in the delsol with out having to replace the whole intire wiring harness under the dash?

Thx for your reply, actually I wasnt lazy at all I jus did not know where to start with websites that delt with all the wiring harnesses. And from what I know all D series motors are VTEC correct? its a 98 D16Y7, and also what is a good website that lists all honda motors that are interchangable with other honda motors, what i mean is like i heard you can take a CRV block an put like a B16 or B18 head on it? stuff like that, whats a good website to look all the stuff up?! thx

Wrong, not all D-series motors are VTEC and unfortunately the D16y7 is a non vtec motor, the D16z6 and D16y8 are the main SOHC D series with VTEC https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif |

Not all D series have V-TEC.
The D16Y7 does NOT have V-TEC, but the y8 does. |
