98 civic sedan - what's needed to drop in a 91 Integra motor?
I have a stock 98 civic sedan lx. I have a 91 Integra I'm planing on pulling motor and dropping into civic. I'm just wondering what all I would be needing to have this switched over and running.

Re: 98 civic sedan LS swap
pull everything from the integra the axles, ecu, shift linkage, and you may need to replace the top drivers side mount because the b series does not have the top post mount. use the rear T bracket from an si im not too sure if the integra one will work. someone else can chime in on that

Re: 98 civic sedan - what's needed to drop in a 91 Integra motor?
If I can give you a little advice, dont.
'91 Integra is OBD0, you'll need to swap the injectors and distributor for OBD1 or OBD2 units (or run an injector box for the injectors, distributor has to be swapped though) you`ll also need an OBD1 ECU and conversion harness or an OBD2 ECU. Problem number 2 stems from the cable tranny, A: '90 - '91 cable trannys were notoriously weak compared to later cable tranny's and hydro units B: It's cable and you'll need to buy aftermarket swap mounts and a hydro to cable conversion kit (these rarely work well and they aren't that cheap) add to all that the fact that '90 - '91 B18As are only 130hp and it really starts to become apparent why this isn't such a good idea.
If If I were you i`d sell the swap to an EF guy and buy a new LS swap with a hydro tranny.

Depending on your states emission test you can get by with it. Not sure about Texas but here in NC you could easily pass as long as the ECU you were using was OBD2 with no Check engine lights and a cat no one would be the wiser, in CA its a different story. I'm with 94EG8 though in terms of all the hoops you'll have to jump through to get it running right its not worth it.

So do I have to install the hydraulic parts into the car since there isn't anything there. N would it be possible to switch the clutch cable pedal assembly over into the civic?

Well obd0 converted to obd2 thats a big gap in time haha.
I have a hasport cable to hydro convertion kit for 60 + shipping. LMK for B18 ls motor. I also have the starter , dizzy, p/s, altenator all obd 1 which would make the swap way easyer if you want make me offer for all the parts and hasport convertion in one price.
Let me know make offer

All u need is si t bracket si driver mount and hasports ekcc kit which converts cable to hydro.... And be smarter than me... Lol. Just buy theclutch line from a junk yard dont use break line. ...Mine is almost all done just gotta figure my rev problem out..... Use ur injectors. Amd change plug on dizzy or.just buy a new obd2 dizzy. Its all plug. And play

YOUR Car is already a hydraulic transmission built but yours is automatic.. YOU need pedals a master cylinder and lines and its hydraulic no point of putting a cable transmission into that car... you should research more if you still don't know too much about your car..

Re: 98 civic sedan - what's needed to drop in a 91 Integra motor?
Some people just dont get it. i had a guy near me that was stuck on putting a cable transmission in and said it was better. so he bought a cable d series trans to put in his del sol. tried to ask why and all he wanted was the short gearing of the zc. oh well i bought his z6 block and got 2 transmission. Sold the zc trans to a friend for more then half the money i paid for the block and 2 transmissions. the idiot was wanting to swap a b18c1 in and the motor he sold me had half his z6 harness cut up hanging on the motor from pulling it. he also thought he was gonna use a gsr harness in his del sol. i told him multiple times he had to use his z6 harness lol

knowing how he wanted the cable tranny so bad im sure he bought an older integra motor. no sense in buying a new harness when the one he had would have worked perfectly
