98 civic radio install
I posted this once before but didnt get the help i needed. I bought a radio to install in my car but i know that the keyless entry is programed through my stock head unit. Im just looking for some specfic instructions on how to do this. I know i have to leave the ant., acc. power and something else plugged into the old radio and to hide it somewhere. How can i leave this stuff plugged into the old radio but also plugged into the new one? or do i even have to do that?
TIA

Re: 98 civic radio install
alright thanks.. but where do the three wires that come off the second plug go to? back to the old wiring or to the new radio?

looks like you plug the female end into your existing deck plug. then the black red and yellow wires that go over to the male plug plugs into your existing deck. then the same three wires that go from the male plug (that plugs into your stock deck) go to your new deck.

here this should help better:
the red black and yellow wires are you power, ignition turn off and ground wires for you deck. the gray and white wires are front right and front left speakers, green and purple wires are rear right and rear left speakers. the orange wire i believe is for a deck dimmer (so the deck back light dims when you turn on your headlights... some use this, some don't)
