my 98 civic dx is showing the check engine light, the eletric fan never shuts off ,and when i drive it for a couple min it idles real low throwing engine code 41 need help please

Code 41, off the top of my head, is primary 02 sensor. Without it, your ECU isnt getting a correct reading of how your car is performing as far as fuel consumption/burning is, therefore, you will use more fuel than is necesary, which will certainly throw off idle speeds, and the overall feeling of how the motor performs.

Edit: Its the primary oxygen sensor <U>Heater</U>, which is still crucial for the sensor to work correctly. How many miles are on your car? Have you ever had the primary 02 replaced before?
